Magnaholdings North Face fleece huge reaction to tomato
Dealing with eczema everyday Ok great thanks i hope it helps. Also you might want
to try sea salt baths or warm compresses on a small baby.We took dd to the beach
a few months ago and the sea water totally cleared her up!Now this is a child
who has a constance outbreak sometimes it is just way worse than others, and sea
salt was a read a few post which remind me of it.I am planning on getting some
in the next few days.I hear nothing but great things about it.Have also been
using aloe with noticed a huge just the last 24 hrs! Thanks.I did actually give
him a bath last night with epsom salt.He only has ezcema on his face.So i ended
up hold a warm washcloth on his cheeks.Jackson always has red cheeks.I haven't
seen his face not red and broke out in almost 4 months. It gets so bad constantly
and breaks open and oozes. It doesn't help that when i put anything on it he rubs
it off and itches. Some products seems to really irritate his face.Even when i do
use hydrocortisone cream he fusses.Any way.The vanicream has helped a little
even over night. But as i said i gave him the salt bath, also did not use any
soap or shampoo, and then applied the cream.Anyone have recommendations for
shampoo to use?I have been using the mild aveeno shampoo only and have been
careful not to let it get on his face and rinse carefully, but is there
something else? I have not used epsom salt for dd don't think.I have used it for
various other things in the past. But have heard good results about it for
eczema.Me know how it goes.Great about the vanicream keep me posted! I am really
hoping to get out later today and pick up some sea salt.I was reading last night
where people have salt water pools just for that purpose.Sell the mortion's tabs
for pools but read to stay clear of anything other than sea salt if you plan it
to use it as a treatment for eczema table salt can be an irritant.I did not know
that!Have given dd several"Regular"Salt baths in the last few days as a sea
salt.Wont be doing that again.Have used the aveeno baby washes before and didnt
have a problem.Suave makes a dye free mild fragrant hypoallergenic kids shampoo
which i have been pleased with.Or maybe just use the dove sensitive body
wash? They don't have a baby i know of but i have used it as early 1 month old on
my now(4 month old dd)Who does not show signs of eczema yet thank goodness.Am
nearly my 24 month old's is which is a whole other topic.Rarely gets it on her
face but her little body is http://magnaholdings.co.uk/ covered
especially her arms and legs and feet.Ughh nothing else i hate to keep going
back to it but the sea salt is a natural cleanser and will clean the skin of old
skin cells without the use of soap. You can add water and cook it down and create
some sort of paste to use as a scalp cleanser.I have no idea what the hair would
look like though.Lol just a thought.Us momma's of children with skin will do and
try anything.Am new here also. And have never really talked with anyone much on
bbc about eczema so if you are sharing product other free to do so anytime.I
just posted earlier on my january 2009 message board though about how ds
developed a small hive on his face today after breakfast. He had things he has
always had.Someone recommended finding an allergist? We are fortunate enough to
live in a city with an amazing children's hospital. We are quite familiar with
the hospital since my son was born with a rare condition and required a weeks
hospitalization at 8 days old!I am going to get on there website and check it
out.Your exactly right.Where are you from? Hi!I'm new to the board and just
wanted to let you know that i finally brought my 13 mth old to an allergist this
week and am relieved to have identified some of the possible causes of his
eczema(Namely eggs, shellfish, peanuts, and possibly wheat).I highly recommend
going to see an allergist as it helps to pinpoint some of the factors you can
possibly control in easing your little one's break-Outs.Also, we were advised
that the flu vaccine(Both the h1n1 and the regular seasonal flu vaccine)Both
contain egg-Which explains why my little boy's been having a bad flair up these
past few weeks ever since he was vaccinated! Our allergist recommends that we go
got the vaccine administered in his office next time(In smaller doses every
10-15 min)To control the reaction to the egg.Had i known, we wouldn't have had
to go through the past 3 weeks of sleepless itchy nights! Also, just to chime in
on product recommendations, we've been using aveeno advanced night repair cream,
recommended by our ped. It's been the only cream that's been effective on my
little boy since he first starting getting the rashes at 4 mths.We previously
tried aquaphor, vaseline, eucerin, etc.To no avail. This particular aveeno
product contains 'ceramide' which is the key ingredient supposedly in calming
eczema.Try it out! It's not a miracle cream(We still have to use prescription
cortisone here and there)But this has definitely provided relief. If aveeno is
making him break out more(Red, irritated)Then do not use aveeno shampoo.I used
so many oatmeal products and my son developed a huge reaction to oats.Oats
cannot even touch his skin he reacts.I forget how my allergist explained it but
basically he grew an intolerance to oats from using oatmeal baths, soaps and
lotions. Vanicream is a great product! The only other cream my son can use is
hydrolatum. It is almost like creamy vaseline but a little thinner. It helped my
son tremendously. Remember 100% cotton clothing, no shapoo or bath products
needed except if your doing salt or bleach baths, trust me they will not be
stinky, all free and clear for laundry only or something similar. The best thing
for eczema is keeping there skin as moist as you can.Steroid creams will help
with major flares and on open areas use an antibiotic cream/ointment.Extreme
cold or extreme heat will cause flares as well. Also stress can cause a flare so
things like excessive crying. Making an appointment with an allergist is a great
idea! Eczema flares can be a vaccination related.Mmr flu and h1n1, egg allergy =
flare.Getting upset during the shot can also cause a flare, although unrelated
to the vaccine it is tough to tell without having any allergy testing done.My
son will no longer get any vaccines especially ones with any trace of egg. My
son is allergic to so many foods. We recently did more testing and found some
previous foods that are now Safe and some Safe foods are no longer"Safe"Since we
didn't want to restrict his diet anymore we used a food journal to write down
any reactions.Eczema does not have a cure but it can be managed. For instance my
son has a huge reaction to tomato sauce, if it touches his skin he flares. We
know this and try to protect his skin while eating pasta but we do not eliminate
it from his diet.Eczema first needs to be controlled then it is completely
manageable. He has the same issue with raw egg.Raw egg cause a huge reaction all
over his body but he has been sneaky and stole a cookie or two that had egg and
no reaction.Trial and error! There is no cure, there is hope but no cure. Well i
used the vanicream for a few days.It does not help. His cheeks are so raw and
irritated.I did go out to today and purchase triple cream.I have put it on him
about 4 times already and his face does look better today. It is not flaking
today, but still red/pink.I have stopped using soap on his body for baths and
only use shampoo once a week if necessary.I am so glad i have found this board
so i can share stories with other mothers who can relate.I cannot pinpoint one
food item that causes a flare. His face looks awful almost every single http://www.babeloo.co.uk/blog/
day.I had switched him to soy a few months ago.I was considering trying
alimentum.Has anyone had any luck in doing so?
